RE: Boon-docking Nevada in October

Hey Burro, you getting ready to close the joint down? We were in Pharanghat 2 weeks ago for a couple of nights. Days were 85, but when the sun started to set it cooled right down. Mornings said 59 on thermostat. This was while it was hovering near triple digits in Sin City. It was 46 this AM in Pahrump. Vegas paper this AM says: Tues 87/63, Wed 91/64, Thurs 91/65, Fri 86/67, Sat 76/62, Sun 78/56. Safe travels to Paula and you. Toad hook-up OK?

I was in the Bass Pro Shop in Vegas last week. Sure enough, they had a rack of Moon Pies there, but no RC.

RE: Dometic Royal RM-3862 replacement - frig leaked out ammonia

Did you check Dometic New Generation RM 3762? My RM 2662 took the dive last week. In talking to several parts places, it seems Dometic is slowly phasing out the "Americana. The New Generation is on $999 at CW now. It is the best price I've found, next was $1069 in Yuma. If you go to the Dometic web site, which by the way is POOR, you can see the models and hole sizes. My 2662 is 6 cu. ft. The New Gen is 7 cu. ft. Also an ice maker is available for the New Gen even though the Dometic chart doesn't show it.

RE: Full time ins.

Some thing to remember, if you are going to tag vehicles in some other state other than Zona, not all insurance companies do business in all states. And by all means make sure your agent or broker understand the term "fulltimers". Many are clueless.

RE: chains for dually tires.....

When running my telephone co. bucket truck, we only ran chains on the outside tire. But as other posters stated when chaining up out West and you are required to do so, drag chains are also mandatory. Personaly if it was me, i'd pull over and wait the situation out.

RE: More campground danger

Just remember, while sleeping, or approaching your room at a Hyatt, Hilton, or Embassy Suites the same thing can happen. Could be a multi-million dollar dope deal turn sour in the room beside you. Go and enjoy life, have fun!

RE: Replacement Fuse Box on Pin Box

Burrko, I just looked at the one on my Alfa 5er. Can't see a manufacture. Try this: http://www.alfateersrvservice.com/ These guys got up and running about the middle of August. Could be some help. I'm like the other poster, a PVC electrical box in one of the many configurations that are available at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. One item that comes to mind quickly that would would work and also has a hinged door on it, but is a little larger, is a telephone network interface box that may be on the side of your house or in the garage. Installed many of them over the years, in my previous life and I believe that is what I would try. Just make a schematic of wire colors and fuses and move everything over to box. Just remember to disconnect battery on 5er first. PM me if I can be of more help.

RE: NASCAR even controls who wins!!!!

Since fooling around with FRANCECAR since 1965 myself, Mo Rambler and I both know "The ink is never dry in the NASCAR Rulebook". Smith's bad deed was advancing. Ask David Hoots at race control and maybe he can give you an explanation, but I really doubt it. NASCAR and Bill Gates have one thing in commom, "control freaks".

RE: Helio Castroneves indicted

I hope the county tax officer was waiting at the payout window after the race. They need to do like the Montreal, Quebec tax people do when the Busch (oh excuse me)Nationwide series runs there. All tax money is paid before leaving the facility.

It will also be interesting how Roger Penske "The Captain" handles this situation, as he likes to run a "squeaky clean organazation".

RE: Helio Castroneves indicted

I sure hope he has to pay up. Just like those tax attorneys television ads. They make me cringe, realizing those people didn't get the settlements they claim, you know they sure didn't end up paying their fair share.

RE: RV Manufactures & Dealers

First off, Good Sam and the parent company Affinity are in bed, so to speak with dealers and manufactures. The other thing is, like other posters have said, the lead time for magazines is way out. Shoot some of them would already be auctioned off before you recieved the magazine. I would suggest that from time to time check out this web site www.rvinews.com And by all means don't believe a salesman pitch. You all know the saying, "if a salesman's lips are moving" and you know the rest!

RE: Helio Castroneves indicted

Interesting as Jimmy Johson has the same 71 year old lawyer Alan Miller. Mabe Tony Stewart can hire Helio to be an adviser, since Tony's team owner partner is Gene Haas. Haas is now in the slammer for income tax evasion on his multi-billion dollar outfit Haas CNC Machine Tools.

RE: Fenders

Saw an early 90ish 5er this week and the guy had a neat deal. He had taken aluminum diamond plate or treadbrite and had it cut to the outline of his original fenders. Of course it was flat, but sure looked good.

RE: Digital Converter Coupons

Slabman, we too have SKP mail service. We have 1st class only service and the government is sending them on another class. So if you are subscribed to "1st class only" they may be in the round file. The online form states this, but only after you have completed everything and are finished. Personally, they can deep six the coupons, because the local stations and I have issues.

When I see them pulled off and being towed on the back of a "hook" Thanksgiving, New Years, and Presidents Day weekend going to the Glamis area, it will make somewhat a believer out of me. IMHO
